What Benfield stands on

Four principles that shape how we support every family through transition

I

Community with kindness

A pastoral team built around knowing every pupil by name.

II

Leadership with integrity

Pupil leaders who help new starters find their feet.

III

Ambition through resilience

High expectations, matched with real support to meet them.

IV

Excellence and pride

In academic work, in enrichment, and in how pupils represent Benfield.

Relational practice

We know our pupils well, we know our families well, and we know our community well. That’s also why we’ve introduced a smartphone ban, keeping the focus on relationships in the classroom and around school.

Questions parents, carers and pupils ask us most

Straight answers, from the people who’ll actually be there on the day, our staff.

Will I get to meet my teachers before I join in September?

Our transition team meets every new starter before they leave primary school. Transition day dates are to be confirmed, we’ll update this page and write to your primary school as soon as they’re set.

What if I don't make any friends?

We work with your primary school to place you near at least one familiar face where we can, and there are dozens of clubs where new friendships start fast.

What if I get lost moving around school?

Most pupils know their way around by the end of week one. Every corridor is clearly signed, and staff are always on hand to point you in the right direction.

What does the school day look like?

Site opens 8.00am, form time 8.50am, five lessons across the day, home time 3.10pm. Full timings on our Dates & Times webpage.

Who can I contact if I have a question?

Your form tutor is your first point of contact, backed by our pastoral and year leads. Full details on our Staff Contacts page.
